History

Eugène Bouthillier started Bouty in 1949 with the help of his wife Mariette. At the time, the small business specialized in upholstering household furniture. Twenty years later, Bouty expanded its horizons and dedicated itself to designing and manufacturing high quality office furniture. The continued success of the company is based on its strong commitment to continual product improvement and innovation.

In 1985, Josée and Sylvie Bouthillier joined the Bouty family business and gradually took on leadership of the company. Placing increased emphasis on both ergonomics and the requirements and concerns of other office supply and furnishing professionals, the Bouthillier daughters instill a personalized and friendly customer service, which enables the company’s impressive growth.

In 2009, the company entered a period of transition as it welcomed associates Éric Morin and Stéphane Abraham. Over the course of 2010, Sylvie and Josée Bouthillier left the company, but continue to collaborate with the new management team.

Today, Bouty is a leader in the industry and is once again broadening its horizons while upholding the commitment to quality it is renowned for.
